For this class, students are required to complete several craft projects that relate to mosaics. Also, by Day 12 of the PRP, students are to present a research paper on THREE different types of mosaics. The research paper should include illustrations (photographs, diagrams, etc.) of the mosaics, as well as the location of the mosaic, its creator and history of the mosaic.
The crafts include:
paper mosaic (construction paper)
decoupage can (pictures from magazines)
cardboard curio box (painted)
plastic heart-shaped box (jewels, glitter, etc.)
photo frame (choice of mosaic materials: buttons, shells, feathers, etc.)
stepping stone (various media set in cement)
Some links to help you find mosaics for the RESEARCH PROJECT:
The above links have many links within them to expand your results. For the RESEARCH PROJECT, you will need to
WRITE 400-600 words
research THREE mosaics that need to be from
THREE different continents
THREE different materials (glass, tile, ceramic, garden, etc.)
include ILLUSTRATIONS of your mosaics
describe a history of each, including the creator (if indicated)
describe the size, location, and material that makes up the mosaic
(I will consider the Middle East as separate from Asia - this area includes the countries now known as Turkey, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Oman, Iraq and Kuwait.) Then, the continents will be: Middle East, (the rest of) Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, North America, South America, and Antarctica.
If you desire, you may substitute ONE of your mosaics with either a LABYRINTH or a MAZE.
